Hot-rolled seamless steel pipe is a large category of seamless steel pipe, which is divided according to the production method. Slotted steel pipes and seamless steel pipes are divided according to the processing form. The seamed steel pipes are generally welded. The seamless steel pipes are cold drawn and hot-rolled. The carbon steel pipes are in terms of materials, and the galvanized pipes are welded pipes.

ASTM Specification A106 covers seamless carbon steel nominal wall pipe for high-temperature service, suitable for bending, flanging and similar forming operations. NPS 1-1/2 and under may be either hot finished or cold drawn.
